Getting Started

✦ Click any bullet point or select text for an AI explanation

Backtick is the Founders Startup Toolkit — built for founders and their teams at every stage of building a company.

For solo founders and early-stage teams, Backtick provides seed playbooks drawn from Irv Shapiro's 40+ years of executive experience: concrete frameworks for hiring, culture, fundraising, product strategy, and building in today's AI-centric world. These are not generic business books. They are the exact frameworks used to build and exit companies like Metamor Technologies (500+ employees) and DialogTech ($100M exit).

For growing teams, Backtick is an AI-powered operating system for your company's knowledge. You create private playbooks — onboarding guides, culture documents, SOPs, how-we-work guides — and every team member gets an AI assistant that answers questions directly from your content, not the internet. Your process, your culture, your decisions — available to the whole team, instantly.

Backtick is not another video course your team watches and forgets. Every play is interactive: team members can click any concept for a deeper AI explanation and ask free-form questions answered in seconds. When you update a play, the AI answers update for everyone — no stale wiki pages, no "I think that's still accurate" uncertainty.
