Learning with Backtick

Backtick is different from other playbook platforms — it's AI-first. Today's AI tools are excellent teachers, as long as you know what to ask. Every Backtick playbook is designed to be used right alongside an AI, whether that's the built-in Gemini integration or the AI tools you already use.

AI tools built into every playbook

• ●Click any bullet point — or select any text — for an instant explanation. Click directly on any bullet, or highlight any sentence, phrase, or passage and click the Ask AI button that appears. The AI immediately explains what you clicked or selected in the context of what you're reading. No typing required.
• ● In every case the explanation tells you what the content means, how it connects to the surrounding ideas in the play, and adds relevant background from authoritative sources — official documentation, Wikipedia, and other high-quality references — so you get a complete picture without leaving the page.
• ●Course Content vs. General Knowledge. When an explanation draws from the playbook, it is labeled Course Content. When the AI adds background from general sources, it is labeled General Knowledge. You always know what came from the author and what the AI is adding on its own.
• ●Ask your own questions using the Ask AI panel. Type any question and get an answer grounded in the content of the play you're reading.

Getting started

The built-in AI features are available to all registered users at no extra cost. You can also use any external AI tool alongside Backtick playbooks — the playbook content is written to give you the right context to ask great questions.

Content access levels

Plays are marked with one of four access levels:

• PublicFree and open to everyone — no account needed.
• RegisteredFree, but requires a Backtick account. Registration is always free — no credit card required.
• PremiumRequires an active premium subscription. A single subscription unlocks all premium content across every playbook.
• EnrolledRequires paid enrollment in that specific playbook. Enrollment gives you full access to all plays in the playbook.
